Addressing roadway safety in the future will require a whole new way of understanding transportation and safety as a “system” that cuts across professional and scholarly disciplines. Especially with the rise of autonomous mobility, ensuring our future transportation system is safe, accessible, equitable, and affordable will require leadership from scholars and professionals with a wide range of expertise. The CSCRS Scholars program aims to develop such future leaders by fostering discussion, collaboration, and shared understanding across disciplines about critical and emerging challenges in transportation.

The CSCRS Scholars program is open to all students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional), post-docs, and fellows across UNC. We encourage people from across the campus community to apply. A modest stipend may be available to eligible applicants.

CSCRS Scholars

  • Participate in the CSCRS seminar series, Coffee & Conversation, held on select Mondays from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. in the Chapin Reading Room (New East Building, 2nd Floor). This spring’s series focuses on “Building resilience into a transportation system for all.”
