2018 Safe Systems Summit: Redefining Transportation Safety

Travel Scholarship

If you are interested in attending the Safe Systems Summit but are in need of travel support, please consider applying for a scholarship. Scholarships are open to any professionals working to improve highway safety in public health, transportation, or planning. There are ten scholarships available, and strong preference is given to individuals currently working in collaborative cross-disciplinary partnerships with a desire to use systems concepts to improve road safety. (Note: Federal employees are unable to accept these funds.)

The scholarship will cover registration, ground and/or air travel costs, parking, lodging, and per diem for meals while traveling. Participants will be reimbursed for travel expenses upon submission of receipts for travel.

To apply, please complete this form.

The deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. EST on July 9, 2018, and notification of awards will be given by July 27, 2018.

Scholarships are provided by the University of North Carolina Injury Prevention Research Center through a grant from CSCRS, a U.S. Department of Transportation National University Transportation Center promoting safety.
