Despite the purported safety benefits of automated vehicles, there are still grave concerns for their deployment in locations with pedestrian and bicycle streams. Will automated vehicles improve safety for all road users? In this session, Dr. Tab Combs will discuss this topic and more, highlighting the needs for better sensing technology and improved roadway design.
