While the safety benefits of automated vehicles are widely purported, little discussion centers on other measurements of health as they relate to this emergent technology. In this session, Dr. Laura Sandt will discuss a range of topics that affect the health of road users and hints at the connections between these topics – including the environment, social resiliency, and physical activity – and vehicle automation.
